Our Top Five Christmas Party Venues in Edmonton, AB
Posted on November 15, 2015
We are always excited for this time of year here at Social Photo Booths! We begin to wrap up our wedding season and flow right into the holidays with Christmas parties. Similar to weddings, we tend to notice trends for these venues and, similarly, we witness their transformation into festive and ornate wonderlands through their decor. Read on to see what spaces we’ve personally enjoyed and that make up our top five favourite locations to throw a Christmas party bash!
1. Windermere Golf and Country Club
Rated #1 in our books is the Windermere Golf and Country Club. A nice windy road through the snow-capped evergreens–reminiscent of a true winter wonderland– leads you to a beautiful cabin-like building in the middle of the woods. The property is truly welcoming with its Christmas lights in the trees and lush holiday decorations inside the chalet. Best suited for smaller groups.
2. Chateau Lacombe
Chateau Lacombe, an iconic building located in the heart of downtown, offers spectacular views of the river valley and is home to the second largest ballroom in the area with over 14,000 square feet. The combination of the beautiful holiday decorations in the lobby and architectural details of the ballroom give the space a historic, yet cozy, feel.
3. The Marriott River Cree
Although it’s a little off the beaten path and may not be the first place that pops to mind for a Christmas party, The Marriott River Cree is well worth the drive. Ample choices of ballrooms and opposed to downtown, the River Cree offers plenty of parking. This newer hotel showcases tasteful modern design with a touch of Native American culture. For instance, we love driving past the open teepees outlined in twinkling lights, just before arriving to the hotel.
4. Fort Edmonton
All year-round, we would say Fort Edmonton is a great destination for any and all types of events. In the winter season, you almost feel as if you’ve been taken back in time, walking along the snowy old-time sidewalks as horse-drawn sleighs pass you by. We enjoy parties in the Hotel Selkirk, it really does take you back to the glamorous and roaring 20s.
5. The Parlour Italian Kitchen
Restaurants are always a reliable choice to host private events if your budget permits. Not only are they a stylish way of throwing a party, but they can also usually accommodate guest lists of various sizes. We really appreciated The Parlour Italian Kitchen and how the décor fit perfectly as a backdrop for a holiday party.
